Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins did not practice Thursday during the portion open to the media.
Higgins is nursing a hamstring injury that reportedly was discovered during Wednesday's workouts.
While Higgins' availability for this weekend remains in limbo, fellow wideout Ja'Marr Chase participated in individual drills on Thursday. Chase injured his back following a hard fall during Sunday night's 24-18 victory over the Buffalo Bills.
"I know what Tee is up to, and I know what I got to do, too," Chase told reporters on Thursday. "I have to be there for my teammates right now. If I can go, I can go."
Chase was pretty quick with his answer when asked if there is a certain time when he needs to know if he can play on Sunday.
"For me in my head, I'm playing until further notice," he said.
Tyler Boyd would be in line for a larger role for the Bengals (5-3) if either Chase or Higgins were unable to play Sunday against the visiting Houston Texans (4-4).
Complicating matters is that Cincinnati has a short week following the game against Houston. The Bengals visit the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Nov. 16.
Chase, 23, leads the team in catches (64), receiving yards (697) and receiving touchdowns (four) in eight games this season. The No. 5 overall pick in 2021 had four receptions for 41 yards in Cincinnati's victory over Buffalo.
Higgins, 24, had eight catches for a season-high 110 yards versus the Bills. He has 27 catches for 328 yards and two touchdowns in seven games this season.
Boyd, 29, has 36 catches for 300 yards and two touchdowns in eight games this season.
