Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Cameron Green, showcased his fielding prowess by pulling off a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) batter, Angkrish Raghuvanshi in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Sunday (April 21).

The game-changing moment unfolded in the sixth over of KKR’s innings, as Raghuvanshi faced a challenging delivery from RCB’s pacer, Yash Dayal. Opting for a lofted shot, Raghuvanshi sent the ball soaring towards the mid-wicket region. However, stationed strategically at mid-wicket, Green sprang into action, tracking the trajectory of the ball with unwavering focus. With impeccable timing and coordination, Green executed a breathtaking leap and plucked the ball out of the air with a single hand, defying gravity in the process.

Despite the momentum of the catch causing him to topple backward, Green maintained a vice-like grip on the ball, securing a pivotal breakthrough for his team. Green makes an impact with the ball after a sensational catch

Following this extraordinary feat in the field, Green continued to make an impact with the ball, showcasing his bowling prowess. Tasked with delivering his first over, Green displayed composure and precision, contributing to his team’s cause.

In the ninth over of the innings, under the captaincy of Du plessis, Green was entrusted with the ball once again. Despite conceding a boundary off the first delivery, Green remained undeterred, bouncing back strongly to claim a crucial wicket. Venkatesh Iyer, the batter, attempted to take on Green’s delivery, but only succeeded in offering a catch to Mahipal Lomror, resulting in the end of his spirited innings after a brief but impactful cameo of 16 runs from just 8 deliveries.
