Tennessee in top five, Michigan rises in AP Top 25 poll

The top four teams in the Associated Press Top 25 college football poll remained unchanged after Week 4, but Tennessee moved into the top five after an impressive 25-15 win at Oklahoma on Saturday.
Texas, which crushed Louisiana-Monroe 51-3, bolstered its grip on the top spot with 44 first-place votes. Georgia remained No. 2 with 13 votes, Ohio State held firm at No. 3 with five first-place votes and Alabama stayed put at No. 4.
Despite dominating Georgia Southern 52-13, unbeaten Ole Miss dropped from No. 5 to No. 6.
Miami, Oregon and Penn State all moved up a spot, while Utah moved up two spots to round out the Top 10 following its 22-19 victory at Oklahoma State.
Defending national champion Michigan made the biggest leap, jumping from No. 18 to No. 12 after its thrilling 27-24 win over Southern California.
Missouri dropped out of the Top 10, falling to No. 11 after narrowly beating Vanderbilt 30-27 in overtime.
BYU made its season debut in the Top 25 at No. 22 after blowing out Kansas State, which dropped from No. 13 to No. 23 after a 38-9 loss.
Oklahoma State and Oklahoma both fell six spots, to Nos. 20 and 21, respectively, after suffering their first losses of the season.
Boise State made the rankings for the first time since November 2020, checking in at No. 25 following a 56-14 blowout of Portland State.
Nebraska and Northern Illinois dropped out after Week 4 losses. The Cornhuskers fell to Illinois 31-24 in overtime, while the Huskies lost 24-21 in overtime to Buffalo.
