In the second T20I of their three-match series, USA secured a historic victory over Bangladesh by a margin of 6 runs. This win not only sealed the series for the hosts but also marked a significant moment in their cricketing journey. After being asked to bat first, USA posted a total of 144 for 6. They successfully defended this total as Bangladesh was bowled out for 138 in 19.3 overs.

The winning moment of USA

In the crucial final over of the match, USA’s Ali Khan took the ball with Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain at the crease, requiring 12 runs for victory with just one wicket remaining. Rishad, having hit a boundary on the second delivery, attempted a ramp shot on the next ball but mistimed it, resulting in the ball finding its way into the hands of the wicketkeeper. This catch secured the series victory for Monank Patel‘s team.

Right on the next delivery, Rishad struck again, dismissing Andries Gous for a duck. Despite the lack of significant contributions from other batters, USA managed to set the target of 144 runs with Aaron Jones’ innings of 35 runs off 34 balls.
